40 YEARS OF SERVICEThe Wyckoff Club was formed under the sponsorship of the Paterson Rotary Club on March 13, 1959. PDG Walter Lindell was the motivating force that united a group of local businessmen in the formation of the Wyckoff Rotary Club. A few years later the Club was re-chartered in the name of “Rotary Club of Wyckoff-Midland Park.
The first meeting of the new Club was held in the Hohokus Inn, Hohokus New Jersey. Ed DeFino, a local real estate broker was the Charter President.
Over the years the Club has actively supported efforts to aid the following organizations and activities:
- Bergen County Blood Bank Mobile
- Bergen County Mental Health Assoc.
- Christian Health Care Center
- Construction of the Bus Shelter in Midland Park
- Construction of Exercise Course for Midland Park
- Construction of Wyckoff Playground & Refreshment stand
- Construction of Wyckoff School Playgrounds
- Eastern Christian Children’s Retreat
- Installation of 2 flagpoles a the Wyckoff Town Hall
- Midland Park and Wyckoff Volunteer Ambulance Corps
- Respiratory Health Association
- Rotary District 7490’s Gift of Life Program
- Rotary Foundation Scholarship for Graduate Study Overseas
- Rotary International Polio Plus Program
- Student Exchange & Leadership Conference for High School Students
- Wyckoff Family YMCA
- Wyckoff and Midland Park Police Departments
- Wyckoff and Midland Park PTO DARE Programs
- Funded and built a Habitat for Humanity House in Paterson
- Awards over $12,000 each year in College Scholarships to local HS Graduates
- Construction of Playgrounds and Nativity & Eastern Christian & Methodist Churches in Wyckoff
- Construction of new steps at the Midland Park Ambulance Bldg.
- Construction of the Turtle Pond in the Wildlife Center
- Refurbishing of the “Touch The World” Camp in Port Jervis, NY
- Sponsored and saved the lives of multiple Korean, Ukrainian, Philippine children through the Gift of Life Program
- Has sponsored a High School INTERACT CLUB at Ramapo High School for the past 12 years
- Founded a ReAct Club at Eisenhower Middle School, which has become a model for ReAct Clubs everywhere
- Gives out over $10,000 each year to local charities and other worthy causes
